There have been albino fox squirrels in WVA that I know of. Some were "piebale" as well being partial white in some areas. Probably the same syndrome in your area.
In WVA it was blamed on incest. Go figure.

Not really sure why this happens, and you really can't call them a piedbald. Here in Michigan where I live, we have quite a few eastern grey squirrels that are black and have white tips on their tails. One has a white diamond shape mark on it's chest. I also have a house sparrow that comes to my bird feeder that has white wings. It's just a freak of nature.

Almost two years ago we had a white fox squirrel in my neighborhood. My wife got a picture of it stealing her walnuts. I wanted to bag and mount him but when the next season rolled around we never saw it again. Over that summer we saw him several occasions and even got a few snap shots of him.

of Michigan is loaded with black squirrels, which are the black phase of the eastern grey. It's called melanism, It's the black mutation form of a normal animal, which is the opposite of albinoism. And to tell you the truth I think we have more black eastern grey than the normal grey's. There everywhere now. I hunt an island in Lake Michigan, called beaver Island, and you could shoot anywhere from 50 to 100 squirrels a day and they would all be black ones. But since the bag limit is only 5 a day thats what we take. There is also black rabbits on the island. But those are from an old man that use to raise them for food. He died and the rabbits all escaped. Now they have bred and returned back to the wild. I'm 52 now and have never seen an albino squirrel alive. and I've hunted since I was 12, which I've hunted for 40 yrs. So I really envy those that have seen an albino squirrel.
