Calling is a lot of fun, but too many coyotes know all about the dead rabbit trick. A group of coyotes howling usually indicates mom and pups, so she is pretty tough to get in. A howler will get them headed your way, I'd recommend picking up a DVD to learn all the sounds.

Trapping is OK, but snares work well too. Out here in CO we snare off fences where the coyotes run, just look for hair on the bottom wire over a ditch or draw. Especially good around a carcass.
