RE: 8 - Official International Harvesters Thread

Thanks for the update Dan. I'm leaving for my property tomorrow night to put up some stands and clear the inevitable windfalls off the trails. How's everybody's practice and shooting coming along?...

I like International Harvesters. Kind of different from the previous names. Has anybody mentioned a team captain. I nominate Dan if he is willing.

RE: Close one eye, or both open when shooting?

Both eyes open. The pin gets fuzzy for me and I feel like my open eye is squinting if I close one eye.

RE: Tree Steps?

I've switched from the screw in steps to the climbing sticks. I agree with WI bow huntr, much safer and easier to use. It takes 1/4 the time and effort to put up sticks than screw in steps.

RE: Same Deer?

I'm not sure. They other thing I noticed on the 1st pic is his right G4 is lower than the left G4 and the opposite on this years pic. I don't know if this makes a difference from year to year.

RE: Favorite Bait

I like to use apples. I have an elderly lady nearby with an apple tree. I clean up the fallen apples in her yard and take them to my hunting area. It's a win win situation for both of us.

RE: mentors?

My dad got me into gun hunting when I was young. I returned the favor and bought him a bow this spring when he retired. I can't wait until Sept. 15 when bow season opens in WI.

RE: Boot Question?

I would wash them and put them outside in the sun to dry. The sunlight UV rays may breakdown the bacteria or algae assuming it is not very humid outside.
