Default Range Finder on Bow

I am going to SD bow hunting this year and I am told that a range finder is a must. Has any one ever used a range finder that attaches to the bow. I am not a big fan on putting stuff on my bow but I though I would get your opinions and exp. The range finder in question is a bushnell. It works with a button on the grip.

I included a pic that some one gave me to see.

I'm wondering.....if...with a special tip inserted into your arrows.....could you just dial in the GPS coordinates? If you're using a draw-loc and a trail-cam that e-mails you images in real time.....you could hunt from the office!

Factoring in infrared technology.....you could also hunt at nig.........

Sorry....[&:][X(]

Nope. Never heard of such.

Yeah I use a rangefinder on my bow...fits right on my sight, works great, no batteries needed!!!
I just hunt whitetails with it so it was easy to setup by using decoys.
I use it as a backup to my estimation.
Same principle as this:

So if that elk's at twenty yards.....and you have your Back line lined up....where's your shot gonna go in relation to your 20 yd pin?

That would make my head hurt.

I have been told that it is illegal in Oklahoma.

I dont think you line them up in the lines and shoot.
I think the lines just help with guessing range, then you move to the appropriate pin

To be honest I hunt in WI and there is no need for a RF where I hunt. I have been out west a few times but we always hunted in pairs and I never had to get a range finder. I will be hunting alone this coming fall and was told that it would be a good idea to have one due to the lack of referance points such as trees. Just looking for info on the item to see if anyone has use it before or know how it works.

It is ok to laugh really. How much weightdoes the rangfinder add toyour bow?

Oh it was funny. I had a mild chuckle. Its all fun.

You know that never even crossed my mind. Probably the first thing I should have thought of.

As a nother memer pointed out it might not even be legal.
