RE: Found my first matched pair

Dayum. That's a nice find. I can't find a matched set to save my ass. Let alone a set from a Pope & Young buck.

Congrats. Post some pics on here.

RE: shedded antlers

I've found a lot of mine in the fields, field edges, and fence rows. But I did find two today in the woods.

I do know this. You can't find very many in your living room. So get out and look.

RE: Where are the sheds!!

I don't know if I can help any. You probably looked in the same places that I do. But I will say this, I walked about 350+ acres yesterday. And I found 8 sheds. I only found 3 in the woods and they...

RE: Sheds...WIERD!

I found these last year. Thought I would post them 'cause they look just like the two on the bottom in the first pic, except these are bigger. They were found in the same spot.

RE: SHED ANTLERS

A couple of tips for KansasDeerHunter, if you have a trailcam put it up. You can tell from your pics if the bucks have started dropping their antlers.

Starting in mid-February, I'd get in the...

RE: SHED ANTLERS

I have a couple of suggestions for the board.

1. When posting, tell people what part of the country you're from. Either put it in your signature or just mention it in your post.

2. Start a...

RE: Anyone having any luck late season bowhunting??

I hunted last year right up until the season was out. I've never done that before. I saw lots of deer and turkey. I think the rabbit and bird hunters had them on the move.

Anyone having any luck late season bowhunting??

I havne't been hunting for a couple of weeks now. I was wondering if anyone has been doing any good? Are the deer moving? Have they herded up? Or are they still rutting a little bit?

RE: Bowhunting from ground?

It can be done. It's a challenge. I like getting setup right on top of trails that have large trees that have fallen down.

RE: Do coyotes scare deer away?

Yes, coyotes will run deer out of the woods.

They will definitely return. But, I believe that the general rule of thumb for "spooked" deer is that they will return in two days. But during the...

I missed a 130 class 8 pointer today.

I'm really bummed. I had him setup perfect. I was nervous and released too early. I shot right over his back at 15 yards. My confidence is gone. I've killed 3 bucks as big as him, but I've never...

Hey Rebel Hog, what is that dog in the third pic? You have catahoula below the pic but is that a full blooded catahoula or a mix?

My dad and brother both killed out this morning.

Here are some pics. My dad shot a typical 8 pointer with a couple of tines shooting off the back of the right beam.

My brother's is a nice 10 pointer with lots of sticker points around the base...

RE: 4 Sheds found yesterday in IL.

I went today for the first time. Deer sign wasn't very good on my 40 acres. I was a little disappointed. Didn't find any antlers either. But I did see 5 bucks with their head gear still on.

RE: coyte hunters in illinois

First thing I thought of while reading the story about the dead turkey is bobcat. I'd be willing to bet that a bobcat might be eating some of your birds. You might be hunting the wrong predator.
