I'm really bummed. I had him setup perfect. I was nervous and released too early. I shot right over his back at 15 yards. My confidence is gone. I've killed 3 bucks as big as him, but I've never missed one with a bow like this.

I'm trying to look on the bright side. I didn't wound him. I'm going to drink another beer and go to bed. And get in the woods tomorrow morning to try for a bigger one. Anyone got any advice that might help my confidence?

I would just be happy that I didn't wound the deer. You still have another chance at him.

I bet he didn't even know what happened. So drink your beer, go to bed, and go get him in the morning.

Look at it this way. If you had killed him, he was ONLY an 8 pointer that if he was lucky would hit 130ish. Now you have the opportunity to keep hunting and hunt a big one. There are bigger ones out there and even this one can be bigger next year. So go get one of them. ME??????????..... At 15 yards I'd of shot the 8 point and been done with it.[8D][8D] But that's just me.
