RE: Chicory Not Desirable?

Wrackmaster,

That seems strange. Your seeing the exact opposite of what I've seen. Our chicory seems to get hit hardest in the summer and fall and the rape doesn't get touched at all except maybe...

RE: WEED CONTROL

I was told that you can use Arrest for grasson Extreme but not Slay. I have some weeds in my Extreme and Whitetail Institute told me to mow only for weeds because Slay will kill the chicory. The...

RE: Plot Saver

I'd rank it just slightly ahead of ph meters. It didn't work for us anyway and I haven't heard many postive comments at all. On the other hand I have heard zero comments on ph meters other than an...

RE: Ph meter or soil test?

Psandhu, you are 100% correct. Lime can make or break your food plot efforts. I found out the hard way too. When we started soil testing and liming according to the recs we started growing some...

RE: Ph meter or soil test?

No decision here. PH meters are a joke IMO and based on my experience and based on everything I've read. Soil testing is the best thing our club ever started doing for successful plots. It made all...

RE: Rust on Soybeans?

I understand rust is a tropical disease and is not expected to go to far North in the U.S. Not an expert myself but was told that by someone who seemed to know what he was talking about. He also said...

RE: Plot Master

The name I hear the most is plot disaster. Really if you are planting an acre or less or don't have a job and can keep going over the same spots over and over and over and over.....then it is...

RE: Making you own 30-06 blend

Just for fun, if...

RE: Making you own 30-06 blend

Answerguy,

Wehad the same question a few years ago so I called and asked about it. I was told that the protein additive in 30-06 with protein is not supposed to be the only protein source for...

RE: Making you own 30-06 blend

slumpbuster,

I agree. I got caught up in the "forums"buy it cheaper at the coop on seed several years ago. I planted a mix of perennial cloverfrom the local coop and it isn't nearly as good as...

RE: PH meter?

I agree Jaydog. One of ourclub members had a ph meter and we used it and if was way off on 7 of the 8 fields we tested it. How it got the one right I'm not sure. I used to really like their camo but...

RE: Mossy Oak Biologic

I guessI fall into the 90% who had no luck at all with bilogic. Except I screwed up and tried it again and it was a joke the 2nd time too. It's hard to believe that a company like mossy oak would put...

RE: Where Are You Getting Your Clover Seed?

Adams, I'm with you. I took the cheap route several years ago based on some of the comments I read on the message boards. I find for the $6-8 more an acre it's a no brainer. The Imperial comes up...

Anyone know how to find the new lime spreader?

A friend told me he saw a new lime spreader at a show but couldn't remember the name of it. He said it can be pulled by a truck, tractor or atv. It cost around $2000. It seems high but we are going...

RE: Planting process

Everything I have read and been told says your biologist told you wrong. Lime doesn't move much within the soil and should be incorporated into the top 3-6 inches of soil. If your lime does happen to...

RE: food plot growing, how long before some use?

POP,

I'll give you my opinion. It is the same as yours and Psycho's. Biologic is the biggest failure I've planted. It was a joke. I called them too but I got an answer. They said wait until...

RE: Hunting over Bait Pro or Con??

This has been a controversial subject for some time and will remain so for a lot longer. Why? Deer hunters care deeply about their sport and the animal we hunt. There is no doubt in my mind that...
