for carrying i like "the claw" sling, it stays put and is wide to spread out the load. not real good if you want to wrap it for shooting though.

you really can't go wrong with the rem corelocks if they shoot well for you. gun tests magazine ranked them very good in their tests. i have used the nosler partitions and they are also great.

not sure how you are set up to shoot. with a 7 mag you have to consider the amount of recoil and be sure you have plenty of eye relief. my personal fav is burris.

my 1895 chillian mauser likes the hornady 139g with imr 4350 powder. <1" at 100 yards with the military barrel. great on the few deer i've used it on.

i use 45 colt in a ruger blackhawk. my handloaded 260 grain speer hollow points are going 1400 fps. they really do a number on michigan whitetails. not to mention they make water filled milk jugs...
