Default SCOPE ADVISE

Hello..Newbie on here..just bought a 7mm mag for elk in New Mexico. I'm a quadriplegic & a wheelchair user. I've applied for NMs mobility impaired hunt. I was wondering if you all could give me some suggestions/insight into a good scope selection. As a wheeler, I'm not certain as to how close I'll be able to get so I'll need something thats good for longer ranges if needed. I'm pretty scope-illiterate so any & all info would be appreciated. Also, does anyone have any experience or opinions on the Sims recoil pads? Thanks.

I would look at Leupold----VarX-II Either 3x9 or 4x12 Probably in 40mm. IMO---Leuopld is a 1st class scope---warranty 2nd to none.

Don't go cheap on optics. Buy the best you can afford. Leuopld has NEVER let me down.

How much are you able to spend on a rifle scope?

That would help out a bunch so we could help you choose the best within your budget.

not sure how you are set up to shoot. with a 7 mag you have to consider the amount of recoil and be sure you have plenty of eye relief. my personal fav is burris.

I would look at the ziess 3x9x40 conquest. The 4" of constant eye relief may be an advantage to a person restricted to a wheelchair.

I would also go with the Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40. Go to www.eurooptic.com . They are running $365.00 + S&H. Good luck on drawing your tag.

Simmons Aetec. Since using them for quite a while now, I would never spend more than what the 2.8x10 power Aetec cost. About 140.00 There just is no need to.

I'm a "special" hunter also! I would buy the best I could afford if it were me, I like the Zeiss Conquest or a Leupold X-III.

I have tryed the last few years for a MI elk tag from New Mexico, good luck! What unit are you trying for...

Welcom to the Forum Quad36,glad to have more hunters on here.

I would have also say GO WITH THE CONQUEST,this a great scope and worth the 350 bucks.
I shot one on a 338 Ultra mag,it is a great scope.
This is coming from a die-hard burris fan.
