Wind is a big deal....if it's windy then I would stick to cover. If you stick to cover be patient going in not to jump stuff...I hunt with a wide variety of cover and land type...from corn and bean...

It was about the same for this past opening weekend for shotgun in Indiana, it wasn' t so much windy as it was wet. We encountered deer mainly moving through thick stuff, I did have a doe come out...
