Cheap effective firestarter

I got this tip from an old Field and stream magazine. Save a couple of months worth of lint from the clothes dryer filter. It weighs nothing and cost nothing. I like that. Lately, I have taken to...

My conspiracy theory on cougars.

On one of the other forums I saw a photo of a cougar that had been killed by wolves. That is my theory: the re-introduction of wolves in the West and Upper Midwest is displacing wolves from their...

Might want to look at Hornady Light Magnum ammo

With a light hitter like .243 I think the extra 200 FPS will add some need knockdown power. They are available in 85 & 100 gr SP and SST.
I use the Light Mag 150 Gr in my .308 and get .300 mag-type...

I like Still, Stand and Treestand hunting

Far Northwestern WIsconsin can have pretty fickle weather in late Fall. Someone probably taught me this but I can't remember who :

If it is really cold the deer will have to move, so sit.

RE: What about .308?

RE: 300. WSM

I just bought a Browning Medallion A bolt on 300WSM for my Dad and delivered it last weekend. It has a BOSS so I would say the felt recoil was no more than a 30.06. Wow, does that critter ever bark!!...

RE: What kind of bullet do you shoot?

I shoot the Hornady Light Magnum 150gr SST in .308. They go downrange @ 3000FPS. The last 3 years I have dropped 5 bucks in their tracks!
