I haven't sold my 700's but I have spent some money to try and get them to shoot as good as my A-Bolt. I can't hardly believe how good my A-Bolt shoots after a cheap little trigger job.

I have owned many 700s,and only two A-Bolts,one with the BOSS.The 700s were every bit as accurate as the A-bolts with loads that I developed for each.I couldn't tell you how they compare with factory loads,because I don't shoot factory loads.The triggers on the 700s were much better,and only needed to be adjusted with no parts replacement required.
The 700s had a decent magazine system,not the over designed abortion of a system used on the A-Bolt.In fact Browning does not use this silly magazine system on the new X-Bolt.

As far as the BOSS was concerned,it did allow me to optimize the gun for a given load,but the damned thing was extremely loud,and it kept coming loose and changing the point of impact.As well,the BOSS equipped rifles are equipped with barrels that are two inches shorter to compensate for the length of the BOSS,and they produce less velocity than a non BOSS gun as a result.

And it is not my intent to PO anyone because it is mostly a subjective choice. I moved off of the Remington platform to Browning about 20 years ago. I have not beem disappointed and plan on adding another A-bolt to my collection shortly. Both are "stock" guns that are tack drivers. Although ,my old 700 was no slouch I find the Brownings more accurate. When it comes to fit and finish there is no comparison. Some folks drive Chevys, others Caddies.

I have a Browning X-bolt and a Remington 700 XCR Tactical. Both in .308. Love them both and they hang out together without any problems.

I actually prefer the Remingtons to the Xbolt. Probably just personal preference. I wouldn't kick either out of bed that's for sure.

I will say that I don't care at all for Remington's detachable magazines. In any of their line, I've had problems with them sitting properly. Also, they don't seem to come out as smooth.

Regular floorplate? I'll take the Remington.

I have a remington 700 sendero in 7mm saum and had a browning a bolt medallion in 30-06. The browning was more accurate than the remmy and the remmy is bedded and has a 2lb trigger. The browning trigger sucks from the factory but would still outshoot the remmy. I do like the remmy action better though its, a stronger action but everything else IMO goes to the browning....too bad it was stolen!

I like the sps or the cdl over the xbolt. I like the feel of the old abolt better than the xbolt
