When do bucks lose their antlers?

I hunt in the Pickens, Oconee, and Seneca area of South Carolina. Does anyone know when bucks tend to lose their antlers?

I hunt in Pickens on Keowee MGT land, so far I've only seen a small cowhorn and a doe, but I didn't see anything until it turned cooler. There is a lot of pressure already on this land!

After a deer has been shot, whether a good shot or not, the adrenaline keeps them going and they will stop at nothing to get away. Also, you said that she went across a creek and then you saw no more...
