I have a stand on a hillside about twenty yds off of a deer trail in some hardwoods(full of acorns). I see plenty of doe everyday that I hunt crossing in front of me on this trail along the hillside....

I thought that you should when shooting sabots? I also thought the deer was without a doubt dead. In the future I will just get another bullet in as soon as possable.

Shot and hit a doe broadside at about 60yds with 100gr powder, 240gr bullet. Deer fell like a rock and kicked and rolled around on her back with head in the air on the ground for about 10 minutes...

scope mounting options

I will be adding a scope to my Knight riffle soon.

Should I leave the open sights on and mount the scope with the 1 in raised mounts?

Or mount the scope as close as possable to the gun...

65lb
30 draw length with a biscuit
340 grain arrow and 100 grain tip

I bought some arrows today and my pro shop told me just because I have a 30 draw length...

Average distace

At what distace are the majority of shots taken from a tree stand? I was told at a local pro shop that it was about 10 yds?? I am newer to the sport of archery and have not taken many shots. :eek:
