First of all the search warrant was for drugs not guns. If they wanted to look for the guns i would have told them to come back with another warrant. And because they found the guns without a proper search warrant this would be thrown out of court or should be.
Hiawatha, under our last go-round of gun control, the police do not need a search warrant to look for guns. It was one of the most controversial aspects of that "law." The problem with 'Law and Order' is that it's a US show, and Americans have a much stronger Constitution than Canadians do (the "Notwithstanding Clause" is a great example).

Your advice about the attorney is right on. Don't ask for an attorney: insist on it, and don't say anything else until you get your lawyer.

if i were u and i knew i was innocent and knew that it would cost so much money and be such a pain then id just shoot the sob that reported me and give them a real reason to take me to court...at least it wouldnt be a waste of time...

i havent bought a blowgun but one can easily be made with a steel golf shaft, pencil easers, string and needles....accurate to 20-25 yards...kinda fun if yer bored

only been in trouble with guns twice in my life so far (im 18)

1) some friends and i got sorta intoxicated with acloholic beverages....mmm ice cold beer in the summer....and one of them shot a neighbours lights out with ma pellet gun. just had to replace light but luckily the PO's werent involved.

2) same group of friends and i were shootin my potato guns at a garbage can and somebody called the cops. a cop about 25 years old showed up and asked wut we were doing. so we figured we'd just tell him what we were up to and he said we werent sopose to have them. 1 was loaded and ready to go when he got there and the best part is be4 he left he told us we'd have to discharge it safely be4 he left.....so i did and when he was gettin in his car he said "hey that things kinda cool, but don't use it in the city again or you'll lose it next time" we all told him thx for the warning and we were off....not all pigs are bad....

Canadian Hunter, you'd show a lot more class if you had said, "Not all police are bad". Your comment about "Pigs" suggests to me that maybe you're not mature enough to be involved with firearms yet. He did give you a break and you haven't the courtesy to appreciate it.

Adrian,

As I read this I'm shocked and happy that you beat this. Congrats.

The writing is on the wall, we all need to inform ourselves of our rights. The question is how to do that?

Any thoughts? I remember a post a while back about a book, legal one, dealing with firearms and Canada?

If someone has the post, this would definitely be a thread to attach it too.

Again Adrian, congrats.

340, I hate to say it , but I never read the book. I called the Lawyer discribed and was shocked to hear him say ,Your screwed he also informed me that Charges in this effect, You probly will do jail time. As also told to me , I have to go away for a couple of days and will call you when I get back, just make out a check for $3000 to start. [&o] I never did get a call back, I was hung out to dry [&o].

I would not say the lawyer that wrote the book ,is no good, because he has gave some good info to help gunowners, but personally I would not call him again. The vives I got was I had about a 3% chance of winning. MY lawyer took the draw and made the best out of it he could. The guy impressed me...BT

hey Adrian,

Thanks for the update and good to know, we'll just print this one off and file it, just in case its needed.

Try to do everything by the book, but you never know with these winners.

Talk to you soon
