First of all the search warrant was for drugs not guns. If they wanted to look for the guns i would have told them to come back with another warrant. And because they found the guns without a proper search warrant this would be thrown out of court or should be.
Hiawatha, under our last go-round of gun control, the police do not need a search warrant to look for guns. It was one of the most controversial aspects of that "law." The problem with 'Law and Order' is that it's a US show, and Americans have a much stronger Constitution than Canadians do (the "Notwithstanding Clause" is a great example).
Your advice about the attorney is right on. Don't ask for an attorney: insist on it, and don't say anything else until you get your lawyer.
