Swampthing; I know how you feel. People have to contact the MNR evertime something like this happens. If you don't fight it, you're accepting it as normal. The locals include the poachers when they talk about hunters and it doesn't do us any good.

Was hunting last week in Northern sask, every night we heard shot ring out while cooking super....well into the night. A local farmer in the area said they have found 6 moose shot and left, 3 of which were gutted and in the same field. They figured the school bus scared these loser's off. The worst thing is the CO's know where and basically who do it, as they are always in violation...but they are True CANADIANS....so politics are in the way again. Even though it is legal...they still think its their right. Makes me sick.
Now we also saw these morons, legal dudes, driving through the hills in a truck with 4 guys in the back with weapons...broad daylight and all dressed in orange. Hard to see why their is so much posted land in the area, these guys really make it hard for the honest group. I don't call them hunters, but poachers, since the law states no loaded weapon in any motorized vehicle. Well i am on the subject of poachers, we ran across these same 3 guys in 2 days, each day they had 3 deer. Finally i said what the h$ll are you doing. Looked all dumb and said what. They informed me their brother, aunt, neighbour, etc wanted deer for sausage and they just shot them with their tags. I propmtly said "Ok thanks" and wrote down the plates, description and reported these knobs. The limit is one per year/per hunter and he must do the shooting!!!!!
I just hope that it makes a difference, but honestly I don't know. Again makes me absolutely sick!!!

SwampTHING: Sorry to intrude in you guy's forum, but one question. If the head and cape were gone, how do you know it was a 12 point? I really do hope all of you who are experiencing a poaching problem call the athorities. As someone mentioned above, its amazeing what they can do with DNA now a days.
