RE: Need Binos, but which???
I have these http://www.opticsbestbuy.com/Vortex-Binoculars-Wide-Angle-10x42-Diamondback-DBK-4210.html
That are better the the 10-42 Monarchs. I looked at them side by side this year. The vortex are brighter and clearer. Worth every penny.
Take a look at vortex binos.

I'm going to arizona myself to hunt and i just picked up a aweosme pair of binos. I got the Leupold Cascade wind river's for 300.00 and they are so clear . They are 10x 42. They are clear in cloudy and rainy conditions as well as sunny. I would go to your local retailer and just look through the lenses of those compared to any other high priced optics . To me swarovskis i looked at were no better

If you get what you pay for with optics. Which imo you do, the logic would dictate not buying a $100 pair of Nikons.

There is something to be said for many inexpensive porro prism binoculars. Porro prisms, by design, are less expensive to manufacture yet provide image quality rivaling that of roof prism glasses costing two to three times their cost. I have no problem recommending the Nikon Action Extremes. I owned a pair of the 7x35s and thought they were one of the best bargains out there.
I have also owned two pairs of the Vortex line of binoculars, the Razor and the Viper. Both are above the price range you listed but I think their entire product line produces excellent performance for their respective prices.
Lastly, I also feel obligated to mention the Leupold Yosemites. They are waterproof, lightweight porros which offer excellent image quality at/around the $100 price point.

I'll agree with hnt24.7 on this one. I have the Nikon Actions and they are great!!! I love the Nikon line of products.
