Well, I have to agree with bluejacket, alot of you haven't promoted our sport at all![:@] I"ve been shooting for 4 years now and have been to the Worlds to shoot for the last 2. Am I going back this year? You bet!! We're all disappointed about how last year ended, but like it was stated above, at least no one was struck by lightning.
My advice is if this is your first Worlds go with these goals 1) to meet some great people, I met one of my best friends from KY on the ranges of Snowshoe, we are 8 hrs apart, but spent a good part of the year (2003) visiting each, along with other great people & friends and my boy friend 2) the experience, yes there's alot of terrain but that's part of our sport, we've all shot in it all rain, wind, hail, snow, sleet, humidity, mud, & lightning 3) just plain have fun
I met another FBO shooter last year that had never been to the Worlds, she had never shot any other terrain other than flat, my advice to her was the same as it is to you. Even with the shoot cancelled she still came over to my room and thanked me, and said that she had a great time shooting with us and would try to make the National Triple Crown with her husband this year and WOULD be back to Worlds again next year.
Hope to see you all again this year, shoot straight and have a safe fun season![8D]

Stickbow--If you have never been there then go . I would suggest going to the other major shoots first. Draw your own judgement and go from there. I have shot many different class at all the IBO events and am now shooting the recurve class. The problem with this site and the IBO is everbody whats to change the rules every year to suit them. Just go and have fun enjoy the the people and be thankful that you can shoot because if we dont get are act together soon we will not have IT.

stickshooter, 2003 was my first year at Snowshoe. I like to fling arrows as much as the next guy. But that's not all there is to it. There are lots of things to see. Archery equipment, beautiful scenery, lots of deer and bears. You'll meet allot of very nice, friendly people, and have a good time with them. I feel it is a family affair at Snowshoe, if that's what you want out of it. I have one son that can't walk the courses or shoot a bow. But we had a ball swimming and looking at the sights. My other son shot in FBH, and we had a ball swimming and looking at the sights. And through all this, I got to shoot some arrows. The weather didn't cooperate, that's life. At least we are all assured of being able to return in 2004, if we so choose. And I choose to return.
