Wayne, I disagreed with the decision to split the class then. I disagree with it now. I think it was a mistake and I think both the remaining recurve classes will suffer because of it.
If you don' t like hearing what I' ve got to say, then go click on something else. If I don' t like what' s going on, I' ll speak my mind. I pay my IBO dues just like you do. As I said before, if you' d been around this sport for more than a few years, you' d have a better understanding of what was going on. Unfortunately, as the older, more experienced shooters leave due to attrition, a great body of information and history goes with it and it seems most of what' s left is a bunch of guys that picked up a stickbow and a Fred Asbell tape and book and now know everything there is to know about " tradititional archery" .
Yeah, I' ve got an answer for MOST things and if I don' t have the answer I figure it out. But there are still a few things that stump me and that I' ll never have an answer for. Like why the Fred Asbell graduates scream bloody murder about how they can' t compete against bows with arrow rests but still want to boast that their style of shooting off the shelf is every bit as good and that using a rest is some kind of sacrilege. What a bunch of silly nonsense. Can' t have it both ways.
Meanwhile, you' re tickled pink because the class has been split and now we' ve got a " World Championship" where there are two classes of recurve shooters each with less than 30 or so in it. JRW was right. It' s become a joke. A bad joke.
But as you said, what' s done is done. You asked for it. You got it. And when the two classes average such a small turn out (12 or so at the " triple crown" events should be a good indicator) that they get eliminated just like the recurve aided class got canned a few years ago; remember we had this conversation.
p.s. I' ll probably be seeing you at the Muzzy this year. I' ve skipped it the last two years because I wanted to compete in the " world championship" but I don' t expect to make that mistake again. I sure hope we' re shooting in the same class, Wayne. It' ll be really nice to see you again.

[8D]Robert, don" t foreget that I still love to shoot in the RU class, but it is also nice to shoot the stick. Yes, hope to see you at the Muzzy. Was one great shoot again this year. We had some new shooters and all had fun. Also hope that you can make next years Stockbridge Traditional. There is a RU class and if there are enough to shoot I will shoot RU. Remember HAVE FUN, time is too short.

23 entries in the HR class and 22 in the RU class. 45 total. Being right can really suck. There were more entries in the cub class than either of the recurve classes.
A quick look at 2002 results compared to 2003 results says it all.
