Yesterday, i took a shot at a nice 10 pt, but missed. I posted a story about it last night, when I got back home. Anyway, I was excited about yesterday's hunt, so I called my buddies, we usually hunt together, and told them about it. This afternoon, when I show up at my stand, I turned crimson with anger. I climbed up the tree, sat down, and got settled in for the evening hunt. I smelled something, kinda like horse crap and vinegar, and started looking around. Ah, there it is. Those bastards. I find a HUGE pile of dip spit on a branch on my tree. I can see its been running down the tree and dripping on the leaves. Damn! So, I start to look around, and holy crap! On the other side of the tree, I find 4 cigarette buts pushed into the tree bark, and 4 burn marks on the side of the stand where the cigarettes were obviously put out.
Now, not only am I trying to stalk down the 10pt again, I'm on the hunt for a new tree as well. I guess somethings, no matter how exciting, you just can't tell your friends.

That does suck. You would hope at least your buddies would have
respect for your stand and not go there in the first place let alone the
other mess. Good luck and next time.......keep quiet until after the kill.

I accidently let one of my "buddies" see one of the deer I was chasing with bow a few weeks ago. The deer is upper 170 class, next morning I was out hunting that deer and he was chasing it with his pickup to "Get a closer look".
Just found out another guy killed that buck tonite, that deer never left my property until he chased it off [:@]

I think my friend does more good than harm. He is not the best hunter on the block, very lazy. He washes his clothes in no scent yet he dries them in a dryer where fabric sheets have been used reversing the effect. He runs so many deer towards me.. Its so funny!

Those ARE NOT Friends.. That just BULL****E.. Unless you have given them permission before to hunt your stand or something of the sort, they should never have done that..
But........ ARE YOU SURE IT WAS THEM?

I too won't call them "friends"...a friend to me would be someone who wants nothing more than to see another friend succeed....in all aspects of life.

I've had my share of those kind of "friends", that's why I play it closer to the vest than I did years back. I used to have this little honey hole where I took three bucks hunting out of the same tree over the course of two years. By the third year, one of my "friends" decided to set up a stand about 150 yards away and naturally, he had to pass through my area each and every time he hunted that stand. That was the end of that spot. It was never the same.
