I want to know what the official score was for that dead fall
If those in front are going slow and wont let you pass then just remind them about the 2 minute rule

My gosh folks, this is America and we have freedom to choose! If I want to practice for bowseason on 3D' s, I can. If I want to look at 3D' s as a form of target archery (i.e. take longer with bells and whistles) I can. Live-en up and let everyone enjoy the form of archery they choose. If the group is slow, kindly ask if you can go by.

Hey davidmill,that is awesome form.[8D]
This is something I have never understood, why is it others get upset when others use different equipment to shoot.I have shot everything under the sun and have won tournaments with hunting rigs from open stakes and shoot open equipment most of the time.
Yes it is practice for hunting but it is also ARCHERY and it can be a competition if you choose it to be,or just a lot of fun or both.
I do understand that open equipment does take longer to get ready for a shot with. The reasons are simple. The sight must be adjusted to exact yardage with every shot and the yardage must be judged exactly before the bow is drawn. There is no holding a little high or low with a scope, you must be precise and a scope is actually tougher than pins untill you learn to use them.Basically you can' t gap the pins.
It is absolutely correct that a group of open shooter need to let faster shooters thru and in most cases that is exactly what happens but it doesn' t always happen that way.Especially when the faster group starts mouthing about the slower one, they seem to be stuck behind a little longer.
One more thing,I know people that hunt with these rigs, except for the long stabilizer, and one has a 180 class deer to his credit with an open rig.As well as about 20 other book deer.

It' s just like anything. There are people who do things for fun, enjoyment, social etc. There are also people who do it for the sheer joy of competition. They GOT to win. Look at the golf courses. You' ll see people that come unglued and throw daggers at you if you whisper...... and then there are people like me.
I have fun to. So, the guy who has to win takes more time and utilizes everything allowable to make a perfect hit. I' m a bowhunter, I could give a rats about a 12 ring, just get me in the vitals and ready for hunting season.

Rule 12 of the IBO rules states that the shooter/shooters of a group shall have 2 minutes to shoot once the preceeding group clears the target. If found in violation of said rule, 5 points will be deducted from his/her score. That keeps everybody moving.

Here in NH you have 1 minute from the time the first shooter releases his arrow at the target, for the next shooter to step up and make his shot. Not sure if that' s an IBO rule or not but it' s stated on our score cards here at the majority if not all of clubs around here. As far as this being a America and we all have the right to use equipment of our choice, I agree.
I would also like to add that shooters are suppose to FOLLOW THE RULES set either by the club or IBO. I don' t see that happening when it come to the time allowed per target or the amount of shooters per group. As I said above, if you mention it to the staff on the course and they DO NOTHING! Because of the amount of money the " Wannabe Pro" entering their clubs shoots bring it. These guys a have every right to shoot what ever they want on their bows but when it comes down to breaking the rules, I have a problem with it. You wouldn' t let me take two shots at a target and score the better shot because it' s against the rules right? So why is it different when it come to the time allowed per shooter? Rules are rules especially when it affect other shooter looking to have some fun.
Two of my friends are in with this crowd of shooters I' m talking about and I ride them every chance I get. They have even said it' s themselves it' s ridiculous the time some of these guys ( women too) are taking on the stakes. We still love shooting 3D and plan on being a little more selective of the shoots we attend. Good luck this year and shoot straight!
