"Corne How can you say with any amount of certainty. The whole nation doesn't have the quantity of hunter disgust as pa does."

because its so blatant the difference its rediculous. LMAO. Anyone who hunts not only here in Pa, but across the country that isnt aware of the high level of pa hunter satisfaction has their head WAAAAY up their own arse. LOL. Its well documented. And Ive provided a helluva lot of links. LOL. Open your eyes., and quit speaking with a lying tongue.

"I highly doubt your statement has any amount of TRUTH."

You speaking of truth??? A proven liar? Speaking to ME, a man of unquestionable impeccable creditility? Ha ha ha. Thats hilarious. You should take your show on the road.
Busted doctoring polls

Busted altering quotes

Busted Busted Busted!!!! and yet you go on calling others liar without EVER backing it up.

Those of us on the side of professional management couldn't have come up with a better poster child to exemplify the stupidity and fanaticism of the other side. Thanks Corny for unintentionally helping the good guys by accident!!! We could never had planted a more effective mole than you've become.

Oh and I'll save you the trouble and post your very predictable response for you..........

Why would you be in favor of professional deer management when the professionals have been wrong about so many issues?

Personally I would prefer scientific deer management where the herd was managed based on the true carrying capacity of the habitat, rather than on the cultural carrying capacity determined by DCNR and the timber industry.

"unquestionable impeccable creditility"

It is what it is. Sorry you cannot say the same. But I do think the caught poll cheating lying 5 year old needs mommy to spank his bottom? Then again maybe if he'd have gotten his bottom spanked he wouldnt be a proven liar, fraud and cheat in the first place. You are the poster child for : Spare the rod, and you get a whiney cheating liar 50 years later.[:'(]

It makes thing more comparable on an apples to apples comparison instead of expressing things in the apples to pumpkins comparison a lot of you try to do.

R.S. Bodenhorn

how would you compare hunter satisfaction in Pa. to any other state right now??? Apples to skyscrapers?

I’d compare hunter satisfaction in this state as about the same as it has been for the past fifty years and pretty much on par with hunter opinions and comments in most of the other major deer hunting states of the intermediate northern tier.

I have been listening to a segment of the Pennsylvania hunters complaining about no deer and poor deer management every single year for the past fifty years, since I was old enough to be interested in conversations of hunters. It appears to me that there are fewer hunters complaining now then what frequently occurring in the past. It is just that now we have the internet so a few vocal complainers can make it sound like they are a lot more in numbers then they really are.

I have been talking to large numbers of hunters during field checks, sportsmen meeting and many other general contacts as a repetitive of the Game Commission for over thirty years and it is perfectly obvious in those contacts that more hunters have both a better understanding and acceptance of the deer management principle and practices today then ever in the past. Though there are still some that don’t get it and never will because they simply reject any information that could make them more knowledgeable of the total deer management subject.

And, if you think hunters in other states don’t complain about the deer management in their states you are mistaken. The lack of hunter knowledge and resulting complaining about deer management isn’t unique to Pennsylvania, there are people in every state that reject the knowledge of the professionals and even the evidence the deer themselves prove.

Let me start out by saying that i am not one of those guys that easily says "IF YOU CANT BEAT EM JOIN EM",,,that being said,,,i have alot of respect for you and the job that you have put your whole life into,,, and when it's all said and done i may not know my a$$ from a hill of beans,,,but what i do know is this,,,wmu 4d is in a shambles when it comes to deer,,,when i was growing up my life was spent spotlighting deer in the fields around Loganton,Tylersville, carroll,,,it was a family event! We spent endless hours in search of the "Buck",,,waiting, visualizing in our dreams that one of those deer that we seen off the light was the one that would show up in the upcoming hunting season,,and we had plenty to look at,,search thru,,,. Now it's a family event discussing the mere sight of a deer. My brother was just down here to Va. this past weekend and i ask him what the "story" was on the deer,,,and it was just a head shake with the usual reply "aint lookin good". So yes,,,all your information and insight on the PGC herd mgmt. is nothing more than a flush of the toilet to guys like me,,,It's hard to pound "we gotta kill more deer" up the a$$e$ of guys like me who have seen "better" days,,,and when i say better i mean more wildlife,,,not bigger horns,, and moreincome from liscensing,,,etc,,,i mean the guy that gets off just seeing deer on his property. Thats all!

Jeff, I wasnt trying to mischaracterize what you said but this post from page 1 sure sounds like you're comparing Ohio to pa in exactly that way

The reason no other state does, infact no one person for that matter, atleast anyone smarter than a 5th grader (other than you that is) does not calculate deer harvest per square mile is because it is totally useless to do so without excluding area's such as Philly. Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, York, Reading, Allentown, Lancaster, etc.,etc, etc., and other urban area's where deer hunting is not taking place. And for you to claim that PA. has a similar DD. as OH. is laughable considering the fact that 450,000 OH. deer hunters harvested around 70,000 less deer than 900,000 + PA. deer hunters did last season. Pike
The only state you mention is Ohio when telling us that the deer density shouldn't be compared with PA because of all those cities.
If I misunderstood what you said there please enlighten us.
BT. once again please stop trying to spin what I said!!

Here is what I said, """""""""""""""RSB. stop trying to spin everything, im not talking about the area's around those cities, im talking about the cities themselves.
For Example the city of York is approx 6 square miles in size and there isnt any deer being harvested within the city limits!!
Your other flaw in using deer harvest per sqaure mile is the state's of PA., NJ., OH., etc. all have different amounts of square miles of cities and towns were 0 deer live (again not talikng about the suburbs were deer are living in peoples back yards) so you are comparing apples to
oranges, for example a much higher % of the state of NJ. is paved and void of deer than PA.""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Then you (BT. Bowhunter) said this in response""""""""""""""""""""""""""""'

BTW, unless you have numbers to back up your idea that Ohio has more land with no deer, that arguement is meaningless. Oh and York may not have any deer within it's city limits wen a highly urbanized city like Pittsburgh has plenty within it's city limits and, yes, a substantial kill comes out of there every year. I'd bet that some live in and get hunted within the limits of York as well."""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

PLEASE NOTE I DID NOT MENTION ANYTHING IN THIS ENTIRE THREAD ABOUT THE STATE OF OH. HAVING MORE OR LESS AREA'S OF NO DEER THAN PA.!! I ONLY SAID THAT A MUCH HIGHER % OF THE STATE OF NJ. IS PAVED AND VOID OF DEER THAN PA. (LIKE STATED ABOVE)

Now would you be so kind to answer my questions that seems that you over looked?

Is it legal to hunt deer with in the city limits of Pittsburgh?
Is it legal to discharge a firearm/ bow etc. within the city limits of Pittsburgh?

Also BT. why is it for the last 5 decades or so in PA. the highest daily deer harvest's have always been on the first day of rifle season, the 2nd day of rifle season, the first saturday of rifle season and the last saturday of rifle season? Thanks, Pike
