Shame on you R.S.B! How did you miss the other significant info posted by BB? It clearly shows total support for the present day deer management plan. Particularly from 1931 to 1950.I'm pretty sure our deer herd was smaller then. Ah!, less deer, more food, better quality deer. Just like today!
Obviously you don't know squat about the history of our herd. The deer densities were much higher during that period than they are today.

Whatis obvious that don’t know squat about the history of the deer or the habitat that supported thosedeer in the northern tier back in those better years.

Much of the habitat across the northern was still in the seedling sapling stage into the mid 1940s. The same as the deer numbers and harvests in those northern tier areas didn’t start to decline until the habitat declined.

You can also see how the antler quality started to decline after the habitat declined. By the end of the 1950 both deer numbers and antler quality were headed into a major slump.

It appears both are finally starting to improve after nearly half a century of trying to carry way too many deer. Even the deer are proving that point and proving just how wrong you are.

....There is plenty more. I think you get the point though.
I get the point. I dont think you got it though. I sawone buck that barely goes beyond the term basket rack and one decentbuck if it were stacked up against todays bucks.

Just wondering why they're all blurred and the hunter has been cut out of each pic. Who do they really belong to?If wesaw the faces, how many different ones would there be? Hunters did it take for you to put together that basket collection?Considering where you claim you hunt, thats actually a pretty weak collection from the 2A neighborhood.

The point was, you were wrong. That pic wasnt posted to show a monster, in fact, I said so ahead of time.

""Just wondering why they're all blurred and the hunter has been cut out of each pic.""

because they were cropped.

"Who do they really belong to?"

LOL would you know either me or my dad if you saw us?? So does it matter? LOL

""If wesaw the faces, how many different ones would there be?""

2....and thats FAR from all the pics with those 2 faces. And even though its a small fraction of our harvests...Its probably more than youve taken in your life! (LOL)(LOL) IVe seen one decent buck youve taken in paand one very average. And you hunt the verybest wmu in the state, yet thats all you can muster.[8D]

"Hunters did it take for you to put together that basket collection?Considering where you claim you hunt, thats actually a pretty weak collection from the 2A neighborhood. "

The herd wasnt much in the 70's. Apparently dad did a better job than yours did throught the 70's, since his "prize winner" was the size of the runt rsb pictured, and others said there was nothing around but spikes and forkies.

2A sucks, highly overrated. As does the rest of the state suck generally speaking. The more current pics of MINEare all better than average bucks for the area, and certainly for Pa bucks. And its currently worse now than in the last 20 years. Btw, those are ALL taken from land open to the public.I also dont hunt in Allegheny area, something which apparently hasnt helped YOU much! (LOL)I think youve made yourself look like a big enough az for one night dont you? (LOL)

I give him credit Bob. Those are some great bucks for the time period they were taken. I also wonder about the blur.
I knew of a guy [dead now]that owned a lot of posted ground and shot bucks like them out of the upstairs bathroom window for decades.
I don't think anybody denied that there were 2-1/2 year old bucks back then. Private property has always played a role.
The big bucks were where you found them.

The blurriness is because they are pictures of pictures, and some you can tell I didnt even take out of the album because the pages stuck.. And I wasnt about to sit here all day to get them perfect retaking them, then putting them online, then putting them on herejust for BTB to eat his words.

But after these statements by him, it was worth it! (LOL)

"Yep, My dad shot a 9 pointer that looked very much like the buck on the left in this pic in the early 70's and won a huge buck pool with it"

A ten inch wide buck rsb had pictured! (LOL)

Then he went on to say: "Betcha we'll never see any of those buck pics".

So you certainly did bat 1000 tonight didnt ya btb LMAO! (LOL)

Liv, every one of those bucks, including the ones in the 70s were taken on open to the public grounds. The 70's pics were all from the Fayette & Somerset mountain public lands.
