Ok, I finally did it.

I've lived in PA for about 10 years now, but I did something I had never done before yesterday...bought my PA hunting license. I grew up and lived in MD for about 23 years. I had always hunted there, had some private land to hunt there and was comfortable with the hunting rules there. So, even after moving to PA, I continued to hunt there, buying my out of state license each year and traveling an hour or more to get to my spots. To be honest, PA's hunting laws and alot of the posts I would read on here and alot of the horror stories I would hear at the local gun shops intimidated me from buying a PA license. But I finally decided this year that I will go ahead and buy both, my resident PA license and my non-resident MD license. There's some state game lands not far from my house, so I think I'll check those out as a start and try to pick up some private land here and there as I go along. The doe application process is a bit over-whelming as I hadn't had to apply for a doe permit in MD in about 15 years. But, I'm learning as I go. MD, with it's long bow season and generous bag limits will probably still be my #1 choice, but I'm willing to give PA a try. Any advice? (Try to keep it positive, please. No "there's no deer in PA" posts, please.)

I would hire the best midget guide you can find (preferably one that has a hot wife) and let him show you the ropes. If you can't find a midget guide see if you can scare one up with a mullet that talks a lot.

I'd hire the midget, but my wife is attracted to midgets, so that might not be the best move I could make for my marriage. As far as the mullet guy who talks alot, I'm afraid you just referred to half of south central PA.

hey brotha, PA is a lot better than most think when it comes to whitetails, me and my brothers have each taken several bucks over 120 with a couple very nice ones pushing 150 (amateur gross scoring) , i am located in beaver county near pittsburgh and hate the heavy pressure here but when you go archery hard you have your pick because most dont go archery where i live, youve started at a very exciting time as i am seeing more nice bucks this year than i have in the last 7 or 8 years, the antler restrictions are really starting to payoff, where are you located

Just make sure you watch out for the mountain lions and State Farm coyotes, those suckers can be deadly.
Your tempting me to get my PA license again but MD has really spoiled me, it would be tough to go back to PA hunting.
