Finally Got 1
#1

I finally got one this morning in MA. Not a monster, but he weighed a bit over 17lb with a 9 &1/2" beard and 3/4" spurs. I was starting to get frustrated. I've had them going quite a bit, but they have been very shy this season. Just haven't been able to connect yet.
I had 4 going this morning and the one I shot was the first to show me his pretty red head! I shot him at about 39 yards. Nice bird.

WMAH,
congrats. I know what you mean about being shy. Had 3 on the roost this morning at 75 yards, and not one flew in my direction. They all flew down and ran away---very wierd, as I called very softly and hardly at all, just a few clucks/purrs before sunrise. Those 3 stayed on the roost till 6:30.
I think this tropical weather, in the NE, has their wires a little mixed up.
Cold front is coming through tonight, with cooler temps and clear skies. Hopefully tomorrow will be "thunder sunrise"...
