Well, I've been sittin' back and watchin' to see what everyones response would be to "stoolman's" pics! Thank goodness there are some very astute members posting here 'cause I'd be really depressed if everyone was buying this "hoax"!
That pic IS a bobcat beyond a shadow of a doubt. And it looks like the "pup" cougar that he saw years ago was actually an adult bobcat and this "hun'erd" pounder is really only 2 pounds heavier than the first one he saw! Maybe even lighter!
This is a prime example of inexperienced sportsmen letting their imagination carry them away!
Totally laughable, especially coming from someone claiming to be so "woodswise"!
Do you feel big now?
Why do you guys always start with the condescending "backward folk" namecalling.

But you Zdeerslayer and Gunwalkrare the ones that didn't even realize it when you were being spoofed. It's prettyfunny that you now try toput yourself above it and make fun of others you think have been "taken in". LOL! Livbucks and sproulman knew full well what I was doing with the turnpike and other pics. You didn't but you think you are the wise ones? That's really funny!

What are you talking about I'm the one that pointed out that the turnpike pic was a fraud. Maybe you should read the posts before you speak. And I'm not trying to place myself above others that have been "taken in" im placing myself above you, because your scam or what ever you wnt to call it is a childish prank and possibly the most stupid thing I have ever seen. Beside what were your motives in the first place to doing this. Oh yea just so you know im 16, and even I thought what you did was stupid.

I think the point is that the turnpike picture was a joke and didn't need to be pointed out as a fraud.

here is a pic just to clearify that bobcats can have lighter coloration, I think this pic resembles that of the "cougar" pic just disproving it even more
This picture is the PERFECT example of this "BOBcat" we are looking at!! I don't believe any one was trying to create a hoax, these people that got the picture really believed it was a cougar. At a first glance, sure it looks like a cougar, but you have to look at EVERY hair. The legs are spotted, the back of the ears are white indicative of a bob cat, the tail is bob cat, and if you look close you see the chin beard, not a heavy one, but just like the the picture above. The camera placement had to be very low to the ground, taking the picture of a 24" animal, when taken close up everything looks big! The plant he walks in will help measure the height. Its a great picture, but not a cougar....its hard to hide a 3 foot tail Lesson learned, field cameras are great tools, but be ready with your measurements when the pictures come in!
