Default Maplewood NJ residents please read!

The Essex County Deer Management task force will hold a public meeting this Thursday at the Maplewood municipal building located at 574 Valley St. Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. If you wish to speak at the meeting you must be a Maplewood resident and you will be allowed three minutes. Info source: Sunday Star Ledger Oct 13th. printing, Section one, page 33.
My comments: Although Maplewood is too urbanized to allow firearms hunting I do wonder if some sort of limited bow hunting could still be allowed. Perhaps by land owners and / or with special safety considerations as to backstops, draw weights, arrowhead types etc?
I figure this is at least worth mentioning but I acknowledge that Essex County is pretty much an anti-hunting county.

I'm def. going to try and attend this meeting. I live right off Wyoming so this would be a dream come true. I hunting in Warren county now.

How your year going so far. I bagged my second doe this weekend. Can't wait for the weather to get colder.

I live in Old Tappan, NJ but would encourage you guys to attend the meeting so that White Buffalo doesnt invade your town. Keep stressing that it COST Princeton about $350 per deer where the town could sell permits for say $15-20. It's all about taxpayer money paying for something that should be regulated bu hunters. Good luck!!

Looking at the world from 15 feet up.

For Tory77;
Glad to meet you also, unfortunately I live about 150 feet or so in the wrong direction. I'm just barely outside the Maplewood border at the bottom of Boyden Ave. Near Dairy Queen store...So I do not qualify to speak at the meeting<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>. I'm a new hunter pursuing only small game right now but expect to go out for deer when I'm more experienced and fit. Please take note of NJBowman's posting here if you have a Maplewood address and can be allowed to speak at the meeting.
For Broadhead88;
Thanks, very good point on cost. A hard sell to the Essex county people though. Mostly quite anti-hunting.
For NJBowman;
A VERY good effort your organization has going there. Now we need a Maplewood resident who will speak up for it.
Thanks to all...
