The Essex County Deer Management task force will hold a public meeting this Thursday at the Maplewood municipal building located at 574 Valley St. Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. If you wish to speak at the meeting you must be a Maplewood resident and you will be allowed three minutes. My comments: Although Maplewood is too urbanized to allow firearms hunting I do wonder if some sort of limited bow hunting could still be allowed. Perhaps by land owners and / or with special safety considerations as to backstops, draw weights, arrowhead types etc?
I figure this is at least worth mentioning but I acknowledge that Essex County is pretty much an anti-hunting county.
