The Missouri Department of conservation tested several last season, and if I remember right, they will test more this gun season. They are also supposed to really crack down on the import of elk and other animals into the state from game farms, especially elk from colorado.

There is a private company here in Colo. that now has a "live" test that is working to detect CWD in the lab. They will have to get approval before it can be used in the field. I'm sure more lab testing will have to be done, ect ect., so it may be awhile before this is even a reality. This would be good for the "penned up critter farms", but I don't see it helping the wild herds much.
