Well, went out for the first time this weekend. Sat. morning i saw two does about 225 yards away eating in a corn field. Sat afternoon didn' t have a chance to see anything the guy i went hunting with had a little problem. He went to pull back on his bow and his string snapped and the limbs on his bow fell off. Well, we went back to town and got another bow for him to use and shot at a target until it got dark. Sunday morning i saw 3 does and a little forkhorn running through a brushy field and they stopped about 100 yrds away, i gave them a grunt and nothing, so i gave them another one as they were turning to leave and they stopped and looked, finally they left and went through a draw into another corn field. That was my weekend, I' ll probably go only one more weekend before shotgun season starts too.

Hi everyone. It' s been a while since I' ve posted. Just been lurking around.

I' ve only been out the last two Saturdays, but I saw 3 bucks and 6 does the first day, out of them I only had one buck come close enough but never cave me an angle he had a small 6pt but must have weighed 180lbs. Then had a doe and fawn come in but the doe was only around 60lbs and her fawn was still red couldn' t have been more than 25-30 lbs. so I wasn' t going to shot her.

The thas last Saturday I saw 5 bucks and three does nothing came close enough for the bow but 3 of the bucks were shooters.

Looks like our plan to let the little bucks walk the last couple years is working out. And looks like this could be a good year.

ILLBUCK Now thats what I call a family picture. Nice buck.

Ladyforge Your telling me that one can get turkey fever as well. I am in trouble. after reading your posts I got a little jealous.(I have a bow I just need some near by land to hunt. It' s not easy living in Cook county burbs.) Well I went out to do some camera hunting at the local forest preserve. With the trees changing colors it was simply beautiful. I stalked in slowly and spooked up some deer. While sitting for ten minutes to settle the woods a doe started walking towards me. I started to shake a little due to the anticipation. I took a good picture of her back side while feeding but I got busted by two others. I' ll try to post the pic. Whats nice about camera hunting? No mess and I don' t have to drag one out. There are some big rubs in there and even bigger untouched bucks.

This is the only result from camera hunting. It' s not much from this doe but I think she is smiling for the camera. I do know there are big racked bucks in there so when I get some pic' s of them I will post those.
