Im thinking about going. I hate to not be there with this temp drop but im not sure i can deal with this damn wind. Im going tomorrow for sure though.

Got my first hoosier buck sunday am in the wind, nice 5 pt!!! Brother in law who I hunt with down there got a 150 class 10 pt on opener!!

Boy is it gonna be cold the next few days..and thru the weekend. GL guys! I'll be inside next to the fireplace. [8D]

this weekend is when the indiana bucks will be taken. cold weather and in the best part of the rut

I got an 8 pointer this evening about 4:30 out at the new place. Not a huge rack but it was perfectly symetrical and had good body size. He was the first deer in the field followed up by 2 does. He ended up crossing the creek and was running a doe hard, i had a split second to decide to shoot or pass, i shot and he ran 10 yards and fell. Not the monster i was hoping for but if we got monster whitetails every season that would take the fun out of the hunt. I still got a doe tag left too so i can still get out there and hunt. Maybe i can get the wife a buck tag just in case I'll get pics tomorrow and put them up.

Here are a couple pics. My deer weighed in at 140 dressed. Not the biggest buck in the world but thats ok.

Took him to the processors tonight and seen 2 monsters that had just been checked in. One was a 205 pound 10 point, the other a 190 8 point. The guy ahead of me had a 7 point that weighed 5 pounds less then mine but his rack was double what mine was. Some nice deer.

That deer looks JUST like the one my buddy Jesse shot a couple weeks back. It's a good 1½ year old.



I went out with my camera in hand this afternoon...didn't see much. A few does running in the distance...and a group of cardinals attacking a sparrow. For the rest of the weekend, I'm required to spend time with the woman.

My buddy Tony shot a button buck A) in my stand 2) with my shotgun D) on my/our land. lol His first deer ever..but I was not there to witness it...had to spend the day shopping with the woman..and watching the new Harry Potter...ugh..
