Here in Minnesota we have been seeing mountain lions too. One lady saw a mountain lion dragging a deer across the road and down into a thick patch of woods, and when the game wardens went down there they found a bunch of dead deer. That is right across the road from one of my squirrell hunting spots and it is just outsideof town so I only use a pellet gun and most of the time I hunt at dusk and leave when it is pitch black. Also another person called the DNR to report what she thought was a mountain lion and when the DNR got there sure enough there was a mountain lion trying to attack a turkey but the turkey was doing a pretty good job of keeping it away.
Itseems like the cougar population is growing in MN.[:'(]

A mountain lion was hit by a car just north of Kansas Cityhere a year or so ago. After lots of downplaying various reports, there was proof-positive on the side of the highway!

haha, I had to bring this post back. Check this link out. Just comes to prove, a lot of people can mistake even an easy to recognize bobcat photo, to claim it as a mountain lion. That post is amazing, and we're even hunters....

I think in all honesty whoever saw that picture and considered it anything besides a bobcat hasn't seen too many pictures of feline wildlife. Pretty recognizable right from the get-go from the tail, head and just build of the cat.

I have heard of the two reported road kill mountian lions in Missouri. The bear sightings will only increase. The Missouri Conservation Department is restocking them. I only see bobcats during the first week of Missouri deer rifle hunting. They aren't legal game for rifle until the second week unfortunately.

We have had mountain lion sittings here also. Funny part is it was right before the zoo recaptured their missing mountain lion. I am not saying they aren't out there but I don't think there are very manny.

One time me an pappy was drivin in the truck and we saw a genuine space alien.[8D]

MDC had the one that was hit south of Fulton at the Fall Sale in Colubia the other weekend. It was a young male, still had it's strips and was about 100#
