Default Question on scopes

New to forum and was hoping to get some information and opinions on rifle scopes. I have a Browning A-Bolt, 308 cal which I will use for whitetail deer hunting here in Wisconsin.

I am strongly leaning towards the Burris, Fullfield II, 3X-9X-40 with the ballistic plex reticle.

Does anyone have any opinion on the Burris scopes and their performance, reliability and water resistence etc.

All thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Daniel

Welcome to the board Sailor, I have never owned a Burris scope. There has been allot of topics on scopes. Many say Burris is a good scope.I been using Leupold Vari XII and have been very happy with their performance. From what I have gathered from this Forum, stay away from Simmons and Tasco. You are much better off buying good optics from the start. Default RE: Question on scopes

Welcome to the board!
I have never owned a Burris scope. I have never heard anything bad about them though. After the heartache of cheap scopes ruining hunts, I now use Leupolds! Stay away from cheap glass! A good Burris, Leupold, or Nikon should serve you well for a lifetime!

Default RE: Question on scopes

Thanks for the comments.
Keep bouncing back and forth from the Leupold VX II and the Burris Fullfield II with the balistic plex reticle.
I have looked through the Leupolds, Nikons and the Bushnells and I tend to prefer the Leupolds. I live in wisconsin and there are no dealers for Burris so I have not had a chance to look through the Burris yet. I will keep looking at the gunshows around the area.
Does anyone have any comments about the 50 ml vs the 40 ml scopes.
I realize that the 50 allows more light in, but is there a problem due to the fact that you need to mount in higher....... some people say that I would have to mount it higher and others say no...
Thanks again for your thoughts....can't wait till season comes again in the fall, should be interesting to see what the DNR does with respect to the recent occurance of Chronic Wasting Disease found in the deer herd in southwest wisconsin.
