Question about scopes
Shooting at black bear and deer from 200-400 yds with a Winchester .300
I have 2 scopes to choose from, the first is:
Bushnell Sportsman Multi Coated 4-12 X40
or the:
Simmons fully coated 3-9 X40
Recommendations?

RE: Question about scopes
I would recomend neither of the two. If you spent that much money on a good rifle, put a good quality scope on it. I would recommend that you get something like a higher quality Bushnell, such as the 3200 series, at a minimum. Better yet would be a good Nikon, Leupold, or Weaver.

RE: Question about scopes
I'll agree with CB. You've got a fine rifle, so don't skimp on the scope. I can speak from experience when it comes to a cheap scope. I put one on my first deer rifle and the very first day I had it in the field, I had a nice buck show up and I couldn't see him through the scope because it was fogged up.[:@] I learned a valuable lesson that day: Spend your money on a quality scope and it'll perform and last a lifetime.
