Yeah i used to ride with a guy that had a yamaha 200 i think. it was a three wheeler. the thing would float! man he would just putt putt across big holes. never needed pulling out.
another guy had a big red he had welded up some buck shots off of a truck onto. looked funny but would go.
three wheelers were fun to ride but they were death traps. i had a 350 x honda that was FAST! most dependable fast bike i ever saw. i sold that thing after 10 + years and made money on it! i gave $1000 for it used and a guy gave me $1300 for it. see hondas sometime appreciate!!

Ruger-Redhawk a friend of mine owned a honda 250R 3 wheeler that thing was real fast. We were out drinking on night and he ran out of gas, the only thing we had was whisky( jack dan, or 151 rum don' t remeber).Well he poured some whisky in his machine, enough to get him to town(2 miles) and that thing ran like greased lightning. We still laugh about that, the good ole days[:-]. His brother ended up with the machine turned it into a racer, put lots of money into it for ice raceing. The last I new he was hitting over 100 mph. on it. I agree with you since they added that extra wheel the price did get alittle outragous.
Soarkrebel; sushi isn' t that what they use to pack the bearings on Hondas?
It' s funny you mention dead fish. That' s kind of like Honda, you know a fish out of water, doesn' t do anything just lays there and smells funny

Sorry,
I know I' m coming into this a little late, but just had to respond. I live in " Polaris County" , up here in the snowmobiling capitol of the world-the UP of Michigan. Most anybody I know around here that use their ATV' s for work, including the public workers, have all stayed away from or gotten rid-of, their Polaris.
I guess it depends on what your intended use is. If you want and ATV for comfort, speed, agility, little to no hard work, little use, and fun.....go with the Polaris.
If you want your ATV for hard work, heavy hauling, to use and abuse, and to keep for 10+ years....go with the Honda.
A farmer in the thumb area said it to me best, " If you want an ATV so your wife(or husband
) can have a nice ride as she brings your lunch to you while you are out in the field, buy a Polaris, but if you' re going to work with it in that field, buy a Honda or Kawasaki" .
I see the most use around here of the Polaris are the family' s or hunters that come up here only 4 or 5 times a year to play around and have some fun. They leave them in the garages or trailer them up from the city, and have a great time! The Polaris is probably the best thing for them. It all probably boils down to one question....Play or Work?

stumblejumper yes I buy LEUPOLDS, I used to buy Redfield until they went belly up.Now they are all Japanese as far as I know. Nikon are made in the Phillipines.I do try to buy as much Made in the USA as possible. Not everything is made here anymore as you know.In fact I try to buy Union made products.I' m sure I' ll catch slack over that too!American made cars are mostly made of foreign parts. My 1980 Ford 4x4 F150 I had the engine was made in Canada .Most clothes are made overseas. Then we wonder why our economy is so bad.

I' m a little late getting in here as well, but I do want to comment. The only pop-scooter I' ll consider is a Honda. I' ve had two and both have been flawless. I now own a 450 Foreman S and I will probably keep it for the next 10 years or so. It has been through some really tough situations, mostly mud and water, and it just keeps on working. I' ve got a set of 27" Super Swamper Vampires on it and it just will not get stuck. I have drowned it out a couple of times in high water, but that was my fault for taking it in too deep.

Northjeff, Solitary Man; you two answered your own question your alittle late. I used to hear this all the time when I road(from those Honda fokes), I' m alittle late. The only advice that I can give to you is buy a Polaris and you' ll either be on time or you' ll be there ahead of time.

I used to own a Honda, it was a nice machine. I' ve had my Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. for about a year now and I love it. Smooth riding and powerful. I ride with Grizzlies, Suzuki' s, and Honda' s and I can go anywhere they can and then some.
My Sportsman is equiped with Goodyear Rawhide tires which is a big plus. Good tires are the key to goin' where you want to go. The machine is very heavy, 750 lbs, so a winch is an absolutely necessary. It is also wider than most machines. Be careful when you follow others and try to squeeze in between trees on trails. The width also makes it very stable. I really think all of the newer Atv' s out there today are light years ahead of where they were 10 years ago. You won' t go wrong with whatever machine you chose. The important thing is just buying one. Get out there and ride, it' s awesome![8D]
