I'm considering buying ainline blk powder riflefor deer hunting. With so many on todays market it's confusing.TC & Knight seem to be the majoritys choice. (50 or 52 cal ?) I would appreciateany input from those who shoot blk power. Happy Holidays Y'all
Best bang for the buck is undoubtably the T/C Omega & Encore. All the other brands of these styles are copy-cats.
Maybemost others copycat TC, but Savage certainly does not. Savage sets the standard.

Most blackpowder rifle-makers have abandoned the production of bolt-action MLs. The Savage may be the best thing since sliced bread for smokeless powder, but not when using blackpowder-only. It's just another messy, dirty, slide-clogging bolt-action.

The action-standard for blackpowder rifles today are the pivot/break/fall-action rifles. Bolt-action ML sales are very-very poor. Biggest complaints are jamming and subpar weather protection due to the design.

I wont argue with the extra cleaning aspects for using BP substitute (even though it still would not be too bad in a savage), but I was thinking larger, suchas the savage design being ableto safely withstand pressures of 100,000 psi and more, versus the 9,000 psi that many otherML withthose "spanish" barrels present.
I think that it is fair for Berreta to be aware of all of his options for ML's.

I have a TC Omega and wouldn't trade it for the world. Not only is it a tack driver, but is so easy to clean and TC stands behind their product. After 1 year, my trigger guard started to pit with rust and the coating pealed off from it. I sent it back to TC and they put a new one on and cleaned up the laminated stock that had hairlines in the finish. Looked like brand new when I got it back....in fact they may have put a new stock on it as well. That says a lot for a company!

That is cool Jackson, as it should be. I have also had very good customer service from Savage. I initially had a siezed vent liner in my breechplug when I just got my 10ML-II. I called Savage, explained it and a week later I got 3 new breechplugs and a dozen vent liners in the mail for free. Thats over a $120 of product for free and without any delay. Good service does really contribute to product loyalty.

Yep! I have little desire to advertise for a company that has given me what I've paid for, but when they give me more than I've paid for I delight in giving them a heads up. As for myself, Knight rifles has given me much more than I've paid for. Nice to know Savage is also a company of customer service. I'll remember that.
