Maybemost others copycat TC, but Savage certainly does not. Savage sets the standard.
Most blackpowder rifle-makers have abandoned the production of bolt-action MLs. The Savage may be the best thing since sliced bread for smokeless powder, but not when using blackpowder-only. It's just another messy, dirty, slide-clogging bolt-action.
The action-standard for blackpowder rifles today are the pivot/break/fall-action rifles. Bolt-action ML sales are very-very poor. Biggest complaints are jamming and subpar weather protection due to the design.
