Hogs and Exotics Gun or bow, you can stretch your season and fill the freezer with wild hogs and an assortment of exotics.

If you were setting up a dedicated wild boar rifle, what would it be?

I've taken a few hogs over the years with my 30-06 browning and norma vulcan 180grains
Now I'm feeding the rifle with hornadys 150 grain Interbond- That bullet is one hard hitting M*F.
Got 2 scopes mounted in Leupold QR. A Aimpoint 9000L for those driven hunts and a Zeiss 6-24x56 illuminated for those dark nights. You do not really need bigger than the 30-06...

I would have to go along with Hog Wild's suggestion on using a 30.06.The 180 grain is ok,but I do think that 150 is much better as far as the accuracy of the shots.

I know hogs are tough, but I haven't seen one NOT go down w/ my 30-06. firing 150 grain express core lockt. Inexpensive ammo, great grouping and lethal. 30-06 is a great all around rifle.

The bigger the better but I have had no problems with my 270 winchester. I really like shooting em with my 45 acp though. If you like pighunting check this website out. It's called offsafety. Its pretty sweet you can make your own oage and share video and pics. were focusing on hog hunting. check it out and sign up
