NY Wild Boar

Found this article on another forum. Quite dissappointing news. Does anyone in any other states have wild boars? If so, what do you think of them? Any help is appreciated.

I huntS.E. Cortland Co., and was wondering if these hogs would make it down my way eventually. I wouldn't mind sticking a arrow in one sometime! But def. hate to see them overrun a woods. There's NO season on them, its yr. around game. If they hit my woods it'd give my wife more reason to complain about me spending more time hunting!!

I haven't seen any in Southern Madison County yet -
I kind of hope I do - While I wouldn't wish it on the farmers - I don't see it as anything but a good thing for me - unless they run deer out of the area?

I would like to see wild pigs here in Pa. Something for me to harvest and save some bucks on meat. I actually prefer ham over turkey. But it would be nice other than how fast they breed. They would dominate and destroy our animals food supplies. Not good for our wildlife here I do have to say. They eat anything they find.

I wonder if there is any truth to the rumor that they are escapees from the "wildlife preserve" in Homer?
