I have one of the compact '77s in .243 and used to have a laminate stock sporter in 30-06, both were accurate as any weatherby or Remington I ever shot.

I just picked up the m77 in .30-06 and around a hundred yards it is shooting tight groups if I can hold it steady.

I have two Rugers, one in 7mm Rem Mag & .270 Win, they both are extremely accurate. I've had the trigger adjusted on the 7mm and replaced the trigger on the .270. I am very satisfied with Ruger!

my dad has been shooting a Ruger M77 in a 25-06 for as long as I can remember and it is one of the most accurate guns he has. I would buy a Ruger in a heart beat. The M77 is a great rifle I have one in a 22 mag and I love it. I have never had any problems with either of them also have a No. 1 and that is a great gun if you like a single shot.

Talking only of the Rugers I own , I have never had a problem with any of them . The model 77 MII in 243 win that I hunt with will shoot around 1.5" groups at 200 yards and has done it more than once . Thats accurate enough for me .

I have had two Ruger rifles a M77 Ultralight in 308 and a M77 in 300wm. The 308 shot about 1 3/4 but it was a Ultralight and the barrel was pencil thin. The 300wm is pretty accurate the best is a little under one inch for five shots with Rem Safari with 200gr Swift A-Frames. The only problem was that the first shot from a clean barrel will be about one inch low and 1/2 in left.
