Default PLEASE RECOMMEND A MUZZLE BRAKE

I have a colt light rifle in 7mm mag that I want to get a muzzle brake on. Have any recommendations on where to get one put on. I am in northern illinois, southern wisconsin area. How much do they cost, and anyone ever try gander mountain brakes? Thanks for any advice.

I'd recommend doing a search on Yahoo for KDF or KDF Muzzlebreaks; a .300 Winmag Model 70 (synthetic McMillan stock) I fired so equipped felt identical to my A-Bolt .270 with factory 150 CoreLokts!

I have a uncle that has a FFL and deals only with gander mountain for brakes and re-barreling job's. I have never dealt with them but they have opened 2 new stores in the Columbus Ohio area.

I've got a 300 Weatherby mag, and I sent it off to Magna Port and they ported it for around $160 or there abouts. Just mailed the action to them, and about 3 weeks later had it back. Its not ugly either like some are, hardly notice it. The 300 now recoils about like my 270 in a rem 700adl. Zeak

I have a Answer Products brake on my Colt 7 mag. and it's a great brake. I have used the Answer brakes on four other rifles for the past ten years, and find they direct the blast foward and are not as loud as other brakes. Yet they do a great job of reducing recoil and muzzle jump.
