Just as information here are some canadian rifle prices from russells sports of calgary.
700bdl ss dm-magnum-$989.99
a-bolt stainless stalker with boss-magnum-$1189.99
model 70 classic stainless w/o boss magnum-$1019.99
mark V super big gamemaster-$1899.99
finnlight magnum-$1599.99
tikka all weather magnum-$919.99
As you can see the tikka is the lowest priced with the 700 slightly more. The finnlight is almost $700 more than the tikka. For the price of the mark V sbgm you could buy 2 tikkas and have money left over.
It makes you wonder why anyone in canada would buy any weatherby except the vanguard.Even the finnlight is closing in on the price of a custom rifle which can be had for just over $2000 from a canadian gunbuilder.

Otis -I have extra options on my customs such as fluted barrels and the sako extractor.I also use mcmillan stocks which are pillar bedded. My gunbuilder supplies the stainless 700 action and my final price comes in around $2500.If you leave out the fluted barrel and sako extractor and use a slightly cheaper stock the price comes down to just over $2000 total.

Hi Gang,
My 2 cents worth..I went with the Weatherby AccurMark in 30/06.I think the resale value would be better than a custom, or Sako.
Be Safe
