What are your thoughts on this cartridge for varmits coyote size on down? Im considering getting this cartridge in the weatherby vanguard anyone have some comments on it? What bullet weight works best and shoots the flattest? Any Recomendations as far as problems,or adjustments.

I own & reload for two 22-250's. They both shot Sierra Matchking 52-grain hollow point boattail bullets very well. I use these rifles for coyotes & gophers with great results.

Winchester Ballistic Tips really are flat shooting and hard hitting bullets that what i use in mine you should try them or those winchester value pack things they come in 40's for like 30 dollers or really good yote load 50 grain Federal V-shock Nosler ballistic Tips

.22-250 is awesome! perfect for coyotes on down.....IMO there are only 2 .223 caliber cartridges to consider.....the .22-250 being awesome and popular, the other the .220 swift just being even more awesome! yet not so readily available. I've yet to see anyone own a .220swift and say anything bad about the caliber, maybe barrel burner, but I think that was in the past....moreso.

personally I like 4000fps.....but whatever shoots best in your gun use.....I think anything from 40-50gr is ideal for a .22-250, though some guys love the heavier bullets, 75gr......I know theyd buck the wind better, but then I think why not shoot something like a .243 at that point, I know I know ballistic coefficient etc....but still.

If you're considering a .22-250 you may really want to take/consider the CZ500 Varmint Kevlar....I know I am! Probably not much of a price difference either.

i have a savage 12 in 22-250 and love it to death. it is poison on coyotes with a 55gr nosler ballistic tip at around 3600fps. personaly i wouldnt use it for anything larger than coyotes unless you use a good premium bullet such as the speer trophy bonded bear claw or the nosler partition. and more importantly than that you have precise shot placement. but even then you more than likely wont get a pass through and will have a very scant blood trail, if you even have one. thats just my .02 worth.

I heard the .220 swift is hard to reload for or something like that is this true?
