I am a handgunner, rifleman, and a little bit of bowhunting. I was just today looking at a new Ruger Super Blakchawk Hunter Bisley, what a beautiful gun that is!
As for right now, I have a good collection. Smith and Wesson Sigma stainless, .40 S&W, Smith and Wesson .500 mag., Ruger Redhawk .44mag, Ruger Blakchawk .357 mag, Glock 21 and 30, Smith and Wesson 9mm, and a Beretta U22 neos .22. I guess the only new one I am looking at is that hunter!
But rifles are my passion......

Gentlemen and Ladies,(I assume there are some ladies here?)
This is my first post on this board. I've just recently aquired a Ruger SBH with the intention of some hawg or whitetail hunting. Hooo-weee! is this a different world than bench-rest prairie-doggin that is my passion. I thought the thousands of rounds I've sent downrange from my S&W 28 and Ruger MKII would equip me for handgun hunting, but it's becoming apparent that I need to pay attention to anything y'all may have to offer in the way of advice. Anyway, I'm all ears.

JagMag - it is scary that we can be so opposite in one category (registration B.S.) and have almost identical pistols/pistol preferences
guess there is always some common ground

I've been handgun hunting almost exclusiely for over 20 years. I've taken everything from rabbits to a moose with handgun. I use mostly revolvers but have used quite a few different S/S's (T/C contender, encore and lone eagle) and bolt guns (XP100s and savage strikers).

I do have more rifles than handguns, but I do have a handgun or two!
Here are the handgun cartridges I load for:
.32 ACP
.32 S&W Long
.32 H&R
.32/20
7.62 Nagant
.38 S&W
.38 Special
.38 Super
.357 magnum
.380
9x18 makarov
9x19
.44 Special
.44 magnum
.45 ACP
.45 Colt
This doesn't include some of the oddball stuff, like 8mm French Ordnance, 10.4 Italian, etc.
Some are toys, some are hunters, some are defense guns.

I'm glad this post was brought up again because I'm kind of new here and have not seen it. I'm an avid bowhunter, but when it comes to my choice of weapons, its a pistol!! As you can see by my screen name, I'm into T/C's. Currently, I have 9 Contender/Encore pistol barrels. Calibers range from .22 Match to .450 Marlin. I also do some small game hunting with a Ruger Competition Target 22lr, High Standard Double-nine convertible and hunt deer with a .480 SRH and a S&W model 57. As for non-hunting pistols, I have a Kimber Ultra CDP .45, S&W model 627(I bought it today), North American Arms mini 22mag and a S&W model 48 nickel. I'm going to a gunshow on Sunday and hope to find a Kimber Eclipse Target II to add to the collection.[8D]

Where did this post come from?.Someone went digging in the archives .That proves someone has to much extra time on their hands or just plain boredom LOL.I have been known to dabble in a little shooting of handguns. Not as much as I would like.I love shooting all guns when time will allow. At one time 4 or 5 nights of the week I would go to the indoor range.I was getting pretty good but that was along time ago.Now I probably couldn't hit a bull in the rump with a base fiddle. At least I hope the thugs think so.LOL.
