How do you keep your guns at home?

I have one of those big fire-proof safes sitting in my garage since it won't fit in my house without removing a door or a window. So all my guns are still in corners, under beds, in my pickup, shop, tractors, they're pretty much scattered everywhere.

Did eldequello say eh? Must be longing for the wide open spaces of Canada or is it our quality ice cold barley sandwiches? Just funning. I keep all of my guns in steel safes. Even though both my boys are shooters and have lots of experience with them I just feel safer having them locked up with me the only one with access. Also, it is much harder for a home intruder to walk off with a safe fun of guns weighing hundreds of pounds.

I keep mine in one of those Bank Vault safes as well. After having a gun case stolen from my truck one morning while I grabbed a quick shower before leaving for the day, they stay locked up. I have a friend though that puts a few "Pretty, though not expensive" rifles and Shotguns out in one of those nice cases like you have. That way, if the theives come knocking, he doesn't lose his real investment, but is still able to display a few guns.

, no I don't have any plans or printsfor it. It was a custom piece that my builder fabricated for me. This guy does some pretty nice work, he's got his own shop for cabinetry and custom millwork. The price wasn't too pretty, butwe did an exchange of services through our businesses, so it worked out for the both of us.It's actually an entire wall unit. The gun cabinet is connected to thefireplace, and on top of the mantle is a space with two pocket doors for a flat screen tv. RWK, thanks for asking, and thanks for everyone's compliments.

I keep the expensive ones in a safe. The cheaper ones I keep hanging from bicycle hooks from the ceiling of my basement workshop- kryptonite bike cables go through the triggerguards and through holes drilled in the floor joists.
I really do like glass front wood cabinets, especially nice pieces of work like the original poster has. Unfortunately, these days I'm much more paranoid. The internet is a wonderful way to share ideas about guns and even pictures of guns with others, but the internet cuts both ways. A thief could look at the pctures that you posted and with a little technical knowhow, track you down in your residence.
A few years ago, a gentleman who posted on a collectors forum was robbed while at home. The thieves took him at gunpoint when he stepped outside to go to work and gave him a laundry list of guns they wanted from him- They knew what guns he had!
I looked at a link he had in his signature line- it was a website describing the guns and other hobbies he had. He also had an email contact that was something like [email protected]. I googled his name and flagstaff, and it litterally took me 1 minute to find his address at home.He lost 10s of thousands of dollars worth of guns because of something so simple and easily overlooked.

I keep telling them that if they're not careful, they're going to end up getting shot. But do they listen?
I tried to raise them right, but obviously, I went wrong someplace.
