I can tell you now...dont even try to use that rifle in Ohio..lol. You will get more than a little "assistance" from the local wardens...lol. If you want a good rock solid slug gun...try a Rem 870 or an 11-87. There are a bunch to choose from...welcome aboard and congrats on finding a lifelong "passion"!

My advice, buy a Mossberg 500 Pump action. The reasons I like this are:
1) Safety on the back of the housing and not on the trigger guard. this allows your trigger finger to go straight to the trigger while releasing the safety at the same time.
2) Holds 6 - 2 3/4" shells or 5 - 3" shells.
3) Has a mid-bead on the sights.
4) Its under $200.
I don't really find semi's worth the money unless you plan on doing a lot of skeet shooting or bird hunting. Just my $0.02.
