Default B Square Shotgun Scope mount

I am getting my dad a B Square scope mount for his Ithaca 37 for Christmas. I have one on my turkey gun and love it. The dealer told me that once we get it sighted in, he can take it off and it will hold the zero??? We sight in the shotguns every year, so this won't be an issue, but I can't see it being "dead on" after taking it off the gun. Is this true?

Default RE: B Square Shotgun Scope mount

I have one for an 870 and it holds it zero. I'm sure having a cantilver barrell would be a bit better but my 870 with a b square mount is dead on at 150 after being taken off and put back on.
