Yes PARedneck Winchesters are conveniently left out of the conversation when accurate rifles are discussed why I don't know. I have had a few in my life with exception of Pre 64 and they have been accurate reliable rifles. Must be a vast Remington/Savage conspiracy.

I have a friend that just bought a new Savage in 243 win .Its okay as far as accuracy is concerned it just won't feed the last round in the magazine . He is taking it back to the dealer tomorrow . My brother has a 270 win in the savage . The extractor cuts the back of the shell casing and the dealer says its okay . Also a new gun . If this is a indication of the quality of savage rifles I would never buy one ,two out of two with problems is a bit much in my opinion.

It's real easy to go on a forum and make outrageous accuracy claims because you don't have to prove it. So with that said, I'll offer the following outrageous accuracy claim of my own for what it's worth, which is probably not much. I have two Sakos, a 7mm Rem Mag and .300 Weatherby. I don't shoot factory ammo, so I can't comment on their accuracy in that regard. However, with their favorite handloads, I get 1/2" or better groups (3 shots at 100 yards) with boring regularity. I don't know if that makes them the most accurate factory rifle, but they're the most accurate I've ever owned.

Yes Solitary Man the claims are outrageous...I belong to a pretty decent private range and we have a lot of members that are hunters and gun nuts. have seen some amazing shooting and groups produced by these guys but hard as it is to believe they were not all done with Savage rifles.
