Has anyone had to send a Simmons' scope back for something in recent history? I am looking at one of their Aetec scopes that has the variable range that I am looking for.
I sent a Nikon in and 5 months later it came back with nothing done. Soooo, I am done with NIK.

If you look hard, and long enough, you will find those with bad experiences, even with the best of scopes!
I have two Simmons scopes and have not had a problem with either of them!
I have had two Tasco's that were junk, and would not have another one if it were given to me! I am sure that this will be said of XXX brands of scopes too!
That said, I don't think that you will find a better scope in it's price range than the Simmons Aetec! Get the best that you can afford, but remember price does not always equal quality! But generally, just about anything that is cheaper than the Aetec, is going to be in the junk catagory!

I've never had an Aetec model, but I have a couple 8-point scopes and an ATV (All Target Variable) model. Never had a problem with any of them. Simmons makes excellent scopes for the price. But I like the type of customer service that never has to be used.

My Step-Dad had an old Simmons 3-9X40 one of the ones that sales at Wal Mart for less than $30. About 4 years ago the cross hairs came apart. I sent the scope in with a letter describing the problem as if they couldn't tell. They sent me back a Simmons 22 Mag 3-9X30AO as they no longer made the scope I sent in. This all took about 3 weeks. I looked up the particular model they sent me and in the Cabela's catalog it was listed at $99. I think this is pretty good. Send in a $30 scope with a problem and receive a $99 scope in trade.
